The Girls Like Me project is composed of photo & video documentation of women who resembled the artist.  Documented throughout Los Angeles in public spaces, Shin attempted to be on the other side of the “gaze”, how others look at the artist; what is it that you notice when you are looking at someone, identifying someone?  An examination about identity, voyeurism and gaze, the exhibit at At the Brewery Project also presented a performance of a gathering of 20 women that the artist assembled who came together all dressed in black and formed a circle to discuss how it feels to be a part of the performance and about the power of looking and being looked at.
